A tropical depression strengthened Sunday into Tropical Storm Michael, which the National Hurricane Center (NHC) said could bring heavy rainfall and flooding to Mexico, Cuba and the U.S. Gulf Coast.
The National Hurricane Center says Tropical Storm Gordon made landfall late Tuesday night just west of the Alabama-Mississippi border.
Tropical Storm Gordon is continuing to strengthen and is expected to become a hurricane late Tuesday as it hits the central U.S. Gulf Coast, including Mississippi.
A storm system moving quickly toward the central U.S. Gulf Coast strengthened to a tropical storm early Monday, according to the National Hurricane Center.
